# Grzybowy radar (Mushroom radar) Site: https://mashroom.fans/ > Free interactive map of Polish forests that shows where a chosen edible mushroom is most likely to grow and where few people go. It ranks forest massifs within driving range of 64 Polish cities, with driving time, walk from the road, mushroom weather, ticks and bears. Open data only, no account, no cookies. Languages: Polish (default) and English. This is a likelihood from forest composition and visitor pressure, not a crop forecast, and it says nothing about edibility: people should only pick mushrooms they know for certain. National parks, nature reserves and military areas (no picking allowed) are excluded and drawn as red hatching. ## How to use the site 1. Pick a mushroom (7 species, photos at the top of the panel). 2. Set the starting city and the range: kilometres by road, driving time, or straight-line distance. 3. Read "Najlepsze miejsca" / "Best spots": the top 30 forest massifs in range, each with a rating 0–100, driving distance and time, walk from the nearest road, visitor level, tree species and links to a Google Maps route. 4. Click a spot for its full card: rating, massif size, best 2×2 km square, visitors, forest area, tree mix, driving and walking, mushroom weather (rain 1–2 weeks ago, coldest night, rain forecast), tick risk this month, tick-borne encephalitis focus, bear range. 5. Map layers: where to look, score map (all of Poland), habitat, people, tree species, weather, hazards. Toggles: no-picking zones, car parks by forests. ## Static guides (plain HTML, no JavaScript) The map itself is a JavaScript app; the same ranking is published as static pages, one per city and mushroom: - Polish: [/grzyby/](https://mashroom.fans/grzyby/) — e.g. [/grzyby/krakow/prawdziwek/](https://mashroom.fans/grzyby/krakow/prawdziwek/) (porcini near Kraków) - English: [/en/mushrooms/](https://mashroom.fans/en/mushrooms/) — e.g. [/en/mushrooms/warszawa/kurka/](https://mashroom.fans/en/mushrooms/warszawa/kurka/) (chanterelles near Warsaw) - Pattern: `/grzyby/{city}/{mushroom}/` and `/en/mushrooms/{city}/{mushroom}/`; hubs `/grzyby/{city}/` and `/grzyby/{mushroom}/` - Each page: top 10 forests within 80 km by road (rating 0–100, distance, drive time, walk from the road to the nearest edge of the forest area, visitor percentile, tree mix, coordinates) with links that open the same forest on the map, plus season and host trees. - Full list: [sitemap.xml](https://mashroom.fans/sitemap.xml) ## Link parameters (deep links) Any view can be opened directly with query parameters; the page keeps them in the address bar so a view can be shared: `/?lang=en&m=kurka&city=gdansk&mode=min&r=90&layer=weather` - `lang`: `pl` | `en` - `m` (mushroom): `prawdziwek` (porcini, Boletus edulis), `podgrzybek` (bay bolete, Imleria badia), `maslak` (slippery jack, Suillus), `kurka` (chanterelle, Cantharellus cibarius), `rydz` (saffron milk cap, Lactarius deliciosus), `kozlarz` (scaber stalk, Leccinum), `ceglastopory` (scarletina bolete, Neoboletus luridiformis) - `city`: warszawa, wroclaw, krakow, lodz, poznan, gdansk, szczecin, lublin, bydgoszcz, bialystok, katowice, gdynia, czestochowa, radom, torun, rzeszow, sosnowiec, kielce, olsztyn, bielsko-biala, gliwice, zabrze, bytom, zielona-gora, rybnik, ruda-slaska, opole, tychy, dabrowa-gornicza, elblag, plock, gorzow-wielkopolski, tarnow, koszalin, wloclawek, walbrzych, chorzow, legnica, kalisz, grudziadz, jaworzno, slupsk, jastrzebie-zdroj, nowy-sacz, jelenia-gora, siedlce, myslowice, konin, suwalki, piotrkow-trybunalski, siemianowice-slaskie, zory, leszno, lomza, zamosc, chelm, przemysl, biala-podlaska, piekary-slaskie, ostroleka, swietochlowice, skierniewice, krosno, tarnobrzeg - `mode`: `km` (km by road, 10–300) | `min` (driving minutes, 15–300) | `air` (straight-line km, 10–250) - `r`: range in the unit of `mode` - `spot` (optional): a forest massif's grid cell; with the same view parameters the page jumps to that forest and opens its card.
